Frequently Asked Questions
What is a concierge?
We are personal assistants who specialize in providing a wide variety of individualized services to seniors. We consider our clients friends and treat them as a family member would.
What kind of services do you provide?
Our services fall under the main categories of document organization, family communication, social coordination, well-being advocacy, banking/bill payment and personal planning. Please click here for more details. We are flexible, however, and encourage client inquiries as we are always looking for new ways to personalize our services to meet their needs.
What areas do you serve?
We serve seniors in South King, Pierce, Kitsap and North Thurston counties.
Who typically engages elder concierge services?
We are typically engaged by seniors, their adult children, guardians or trustees.
Do you provide transportation?
We provide transportation to accompanied professional appointments only. We would be happy to arrange for a transportation service to meet clients’ other transportation needs.
Do you provide home health?
We provide non-medical personal assistance to our clients. We are not caregivers nor do we provide domestic services such as shopping, cooking, cleaning, or pet sitting. However, we are happy to coordinate these services for clients.
Will you administer medication?
Our insurance does not permit us to administer medication.
What is patient advocacy?
We accompany clients to medical or other professional appointments to thoroughly document the proceedings, help them understand the outcomes and follow up on any action items. This information may also be communicated to relevant family members to keep everyone informed.
Can my parent be in an assisted living facility?
Yes. Our concierge services are available in a variety of living situations. With regular contact, we can be the eyes and ears for family members providing feedback on the well-being of the senior as well as the oversight of the care facility.
How do we know we can trust you?
We are experienced, bonded and insured. We have excellent, long-standing reputations in the community and resumes, references and background checks available upon request.
If we use your services, will you pass us off to an employee?
Because we do not have employees, you will always be working directly with us. Our goal is to provide highly personalized attention to each client. We manage our client load so that we can give each senior the attention they deserve.
How do you charge for your services?
We bill hourly based on the number of hours necessary for the clients’ desired services. Because of the non-traditional and custom nature of our services, we are happy to provide an estimate once we understand the scope of the clients’ needs.
How do we pay for your services?
We bill on a monthly basis and accept check payments.
When can we start?
We offer a free in person consultation. We will present a plan and an estimate of the hours needed. Once everyone is in agreement, our services can begin shortly thereafter.
How will family members know how things are going?
We work very closely with family members. We provide designated family members periodic email reports and follow up with a phone call immediately, if needed. We want you to be as involved as possible without actually having to be there.
